The OCIO (Office of the CIO) Sr Portfolio Lead will own, plan and drive key deliverables to provide strategic, operational, and execution support to the Chief of Staff of the Enterprise CIO. This role requires exceptional collaboration skills, advanced communication skills, extensive research capabilities, strong program management discipline and flexibility and ability to juggle with multiple tasks and prioritize activities. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned executive with a proven track record of supporting senior leaders in a dynamic and complex environment with ability to work independently with minimal direction.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office location (Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management leadership:
- Drive the design, planning and execution of key strategic initiatives and deliverables: Own and drive deliverables/tasks, collaborate, plan and execute on the same. Bring in program management discipline and structure to all processes (e.g., prepare detailed meeting agendas, document key decisions, and ensure follow-up on action items).
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the enterprise on orchestrating strategic planning
- Focused on continuous process improvement, identifying and executing opportunities that enable a smoother process for the Enterprise CIO
- Lead, plan and execute critical initiatives and events, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timely execution
- Oversee and manage ad hoc topics (deliverables, events, etc.) based on strategic organizational needs
- Monitor progress towards strategic objectives and provide regular updates and recommendations for course corrections.
- Manager key partner contracts and relationships as needed.
- Help support and drive Knowledge Management within OCIO
- Proactively communicate on status of tasks, risks and other items in a manner that is easily consumable.
Executive and Enterprise Communication:
- Author, review, and refine complex reports, strategic documents, presentations, and correspondence – including Board, CEO and Executive Leadership communication from CIO. Ensure all written communications are high quality, clear, consistent, concise, and aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
- Maintain an excellent eye for details while understanding the strategic direction.
- Synthesize and present information in a consumable format.
Marketing and Communication Collaboration
- Collaborate with marketing, HR and communication teams to drive strategic marketing for technology, prepare key messages, and support marketing events related to the CIO
- Plan for, and collaborate with Communication team to engage technology employees through communication such as newsletters, videos, etc.
- Work with the marketing team to drive implementation of marketing plan
- Drive preparation of key messages and scripts for marketing events related to CIO
Advanced Research:
- Drive and conduct in-depth research on industry trends, emerging technologies, competitive analysis and marketing/branding events to inform strategic decision-making
- Synthesize complex data and provide actionable insights and recommendations to the Chief of Staff and CIO
- Maintain a strong technical quotient with willingness to learn new topics continuously based on strategic needs
Qualifications:
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$100,000 - $150,000
