Job Description

MUSC Community Physicians is seeking a dedicated physician with interest in Occupational Health to join our team. This role is ideal for a compassionate and community-oriented medical professional who is committed to providing comprehensive healthcare services to a diverse population in rural settings.

 

About the opportunity:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care management.

  • Conduct physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications.

  • Develop and manage effective treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases prevalent in rural areas.

  • Offer guidance on disease prevention and health maintenance.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.

  • Conduct Workers’ Compensation assessments and manage related cases.

  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) medical examinations as a certified medical examiner.

  • Supervise multiple APPs across the regional areas in MUSC Occupational Health locations.

Qualifications:

  • Board certification in Occupational Medicine preferred but not required.

  • Comfort or willingness to manage Workers’ Compensation cases.

  • Certified or obtain certification as a DOT Medical Examiner within 6 months of hire.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with patients and industry clients.

  • Strong commitment to health care excellence in a rural setting.
