Overview
Performs a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasound to assist the physician in providing quality care in a medical office setting.

What you will do

  • Ensures correct coding and charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies.
  • Assists the physicians in the development of new ultrasound techniques and protocols.
  • Provides for an efficient and respectful patient encounter and thoroughly explains the procedure to the patient so they have a demonstrated understanding of what is going to take place. Acts as a liaison between physician and patient, providing physicians with information to assist with proper diagnosis and treatment modality. Follows physician protocols appropriate for the ultrasound appointment type.
  • Conscientiously observes policies and procedures to ensure the safety of the patients and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
  • Evaluates the quality of the ultrasound and determines if any additional films or follow up is necessary. Maintains records of all ultrasounds completed in the office and archives as necessary.
  • Reports any abnormalities or issues to the physicians and prepares a written summary of findings. Efficiently and accurately utilizes ultrasound techniques to detect abnormalities.


Qualifications

Education

  • Program Graduate, ARDMS approved school/program or registry eligible (Required)


Experience

  • 1 year Ultrasonographer experience preferably in an OBGYN practice (Preferred)


Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Ultrasound Technician - Allied Health Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
