Overview of the Department
Global Cybersecurity & Fraud Management (GCFM) is responsible for securing our technology, people, and processes, while partnering across the enterprise to deliver innovative capabilities that reduce risk and maintain the trust of our participants.
Summer Internship Opportunities:
Support Nuveen Cybersecurity Team with operational delivery
Attend and contribute at team meetings and workshops to better understand the Cybersecurity priorities and deliverables for Nuveen Europe & APAC
Understand the security threats/risks to technology and business assets

What We’re Looking For:
Academic Excellence: On track for at least a 2:1 or higher undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Security or Information Technology
A passion for technology: Ideally within financial services & preferably Asset Management
Excellence: Examples of professional & personal commitment to excellence
Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex information into clear, concise written and verbal communications tailored to different audiences. E.g. You should be comfortable in preparing client ready emails, delivering presentations to a small group of your team or writing reports that inform decision-making.
Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in team settings by actively listening to others' perspectives, contributing constructively to group discussions. E.g. You should be able to adapt your working style to help deliver team goals & objectives.
Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to understand business problems from multiple angles, identify key drivers of outcomes, and propose solutions that balance competing priorities. E.g. Be able to demonstrate interest in understanding how client needs align with product offerings.
Microsoft Office Proficiency: Strong competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
Information Security/Cybersecurity: An interest in security, covering (but not exclusive to) security management, network security, application security, security testing, how it can be leveraged for business value
AI: A good understanding of the AI technology landscape. E.g. Be able to apply different AI implementation use cases when looking at AI solutions
Due to high volume of applications:
We will only consider students in their penultimate year graduating in 2027.
We will only consider applicants who have the right to live and work in the country for where the internship is located.
You must be able to work the internship dates of 22nd June – 28th August 2026.
