$44.15 - $66.25EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Health Care Management, or Business Administration required Three to five years clinical experience in clinical practice area of interest in an academic medical center or tertiary hospital setting required Teaching and leadership experience preferred Experience with Health Stream Learning Management System desired
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in applicable state BCLS Required Certification in clinical specialty or Nursing Professional Development preferred. For Labor & Delivery NPDS, NRP required and RNC-OB certification preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Independently plans, delivers and evaluates an array of educational programs in collaboration with Director and Manager of Clinical Education, Birth Center Director, System Directors, Nurse Managers, and Clinical Educators. Develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates professional development initiatives for nursing and the inter-professional team (Intern and Extern program, Orientation, Transition to Practice, Contact hour credited programs, charge nurse program, preceptor program, scholarship management, etc.). 2. Serves as a resource/liaison for the Wake Forest Baptist Health System (WFBH) clinical environments, Medical and Nursing schools, and community activities. Provides consultation to WFBH system and nursing leadership for program development. Partners with clinical leaders, committees, councils and other departments to identify staff learning needs and develop educational programs, training for new products, and development of annual competency assessment. 3.Conducts Regulatory Compliance/ Policy Review and Revision involving the design, testing, implementation, education and maintenance of clinical content for the Learning Management System which includes courses, continuing education, student attendance and competency documentation. 4. Ensures quality education for service line by updating own knowledge and skills and collaborating with unit based Clinical Educator and Nurse Manager. Demonstrates responsibility for personal development by participating in 8 hours of continuing education offerings. Maintains or obtains certification in clinical specialty or Nursing Professional Development. 5. Leads or serves on project teams for all aspects of educational principles as knowledge expert. Supports and integrates principles of the Professional Practice Model and Evidence-Based Practices in all professional developmental endeavors through research and quality improvement involvement. 6. Practices in compliance with Scope and Standards of Practice for the Nursing Professional Development Specialist. 7. Supports provision of age/developmentally appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served development, the aging process, and strategies to meet related needs. 8. Conducts data collection, program evaluation and makes changes in educational offerings based on trends and identified issues. 9. Maintains healthy/positive work environment by serving as role models by demonstrating medical center values and supporting the mission and goals of the institution. 10. Collaborates with Clinical Compliance and Regulatory Services in the development and review of policies. Includes collaboration with managers, charge nurses, clinical educators, preceptors and members of multidisciplinary teams to promote quality patient outcomes which meet CMS, TJC and Meaningful Use requirements. 11. Collaborates with IAS in the development of nursing process and theory to support documentation in the electronic medical record. 12. Plans, directs and evaluates educational programs and in-services pertaining to perioperative nursing. 13. Provide oversight for quality oversight in the OR space for Eyewear, medication labeling on the field etc. 14. Plan, directs and evaluates all RN Training Programs. 15. Directs and implements preceptor program for the department. 16. Provide support and input for surgical services internal website. 17. Other tasks as assigned
