Job Description:
- The scope of responsibility and accountability for the Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (NPDP) aligns with professional standards and continuously evolves to meet the demands of the practice setting.
- The NPDP is a registered nurse (RN) with NPD practice judgement and expertise who influences professional role competence and growth of learners in a variety of settings with a desired outcome of improved population health. The term “practitioner” is used in this specialty only in conjunction with NPD as a title.
Education:
- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required.
- BSN required.
- Master's degree in nursing education preferred.
- Certification in clinical practice/specialty practice preferred.
- Certification in clinical practice/specialty practice preferred.
For Central NPDPs:
- BSN Required
- Nursing Professional Development Board Certification required or is currently eligible to sit for this certification.
- 2 years in a department-based (unit or clinic) nursing professional development practitioner role is strongly preferred.
Experience:
- Experience as a clinical preceptor required.
- 5 years of nursing experience required.
- 5 years of nursing experience in the applicable clinical specialty strongly preferred.
