Job Description:
Nursing Assistant - Endoscopy
Full-Time 8a - 4:30p
This position may require occasional late shifts, depending on unit needs.
The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Accurately takes vital signs as directed by Registered Nurse.
Performs 12 lead EKGs on patients.
Demonstrates ability to perform phlebotomy venipuncture using two patient identifiers and appropriate handling of specimens.
Ensures that specimens are correctly labeled. Verifies correct labeling by matching specimen labels with the patient identification band and labeling specimens in the presence of the patient.
Appropriately gives tap water enemas to patients under direction of the RN.
Assists patients with personal hygiene as directed by RN.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
