Part timePosition Summary and Qualifications:
The Nurse Practitioner, with at least 3-5 years experience in an acute care setting, will provide comprehensive care to the students through physical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, order diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications. The NP emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education.Note to applicants: Please submit both a cover letter and resume in the "Supporting Materials Field" upload field.
Perform comprehensive physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and develop treatment plans.
Order, perform, and interpret lab results. Manage acute and chronic conditions.
Prescribe medications and treatments in compliance with PA state laws.
Perform minor procedures such as I&Ds and suturing lacerations.
Educate students on disease prevention and their health issues/needs.
Strong GYN assessment skills and treatment knowledge
Maintain health records of students, including initial data gathering, tracking of immunizations, and updating as necessary.
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses.
Communicate professionally with students, colleagues, parents, and off-campus medical professionals when necessary.
Develop and implement health education programs/materials for campus community.
Provide support to the Student Health Director, Medical Director, registered nurses and other Student Health staff.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Arrange referrals, appointments and transportation for students as needed.
Assist with the maintaining and ordering of medications and medical supplies as needed.
Point of Care testing (Mono, Flu, Covid, Hcg, U/A, glucose testing).
To contribute to campus wellness initiatives through outreach, education, and programming regarding health and wellness topics.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education/Training and Experience)
Required
MSN or DNP from an accredited program
Active RN license in PA
Active NP license in PA, with at least 3-5 years of clinical experience in acute care
National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC).
Excellent physical assessment skills and phlebotomy skills.
Electronic Medical Records experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience in college health, emergency or adolescent medicine.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Must be flexible, some evening/weekend hours may be necessary (e.g., in the event of a crisis).
Non-exempt, part-time, 9 month position (mid August - mid May)
Typically working 28 hours/week
Pay Transparency:
The estimated pay range for this position is $45.00-$47.87 per hour. The offered rate of pay will be commensurate with work experience and educational background.
