Geisinger Medical Center is seeking a skilled and motivated Neurology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Neurosciences team in Danville, Pennsylvania.

Position Highlights

  • Work within a multidisciplinary team of neurologists, APPs, nurses, and specialty support staff.
  • Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and management of diverse neurological conditions.
  • Opportunities to support specialized programs such as stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, memory and general neurology.
  • Access to state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic resources across Geisinger’s neurosciences service line.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and develop patient-centered care plans.
  • Conduct follow-up visits, medication management, and patient counseling.
  • Collaborate closely with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Document patient encounters accurately within the EMR.
  • Engage in patient and family education and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

The successful Physician Assistant must be a graduate of a ARC-approved physician assistant program, eligible or certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants and eligible or certified by the State Board of Medicine.

 

The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners and must be eligible for or certified by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Must be certified to work with all patient population age groups.

Geisinger’s Neuroscience Institute spans Geisinger’s three main campuses in Danville, Wilkes-Barre and Scranton, along with locations in State College and Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Our program includes most neurology and neurosurgery subspecialties along with neurology and neurosurgery residency programs.  Geisinger has a specific focus on quality not quantity and developing new management pathways for optimal outcomes.
