University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our inpatient Hematology/Oncology team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC) in Minneapolis. This position will see patients admitted to our BMT and Hem/Onc service.
In This Role, You Will:
- Perform comprehensive clinical assessment and management of complex patients with hematologic malignancies, cancer and those undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, cellular therapy, phase one clinical trials, and stem cell donation in the inpatient setting
- Perform admissions, discharges, bedside rounding, write orders and daily progress notes, and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
- Routinely collaborate with multi-disciplinary team including attending MD, consulting physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and research staff. Collaborate with the outpatient care team to ensure appropriate discharge follow-up.
- Diagnose and manage complications disease and treatment related complications including pancytopenia, systemic infections, DIC, multi-organ failure, cytokine release syndrome, mullt-organ failure, symptom management, palliative care support, end of life support.
- Perform bedside procedures including bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, lumbar puncture and skin biopsy.
Schedule:
- 1.0 FTE
- Day shift, 7:00am-3:30pm
- Rotating weekends (1:5 typically) and rotating holidays
- No Call
We’re Looking For a PA or NP Who Is:
- A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
- Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP’s).
- Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

The full-time salary range is $128,259 - $158,160 commensurate with practice experience and may also include incentive compensation or additional specialty-specific compensation components. Salary prorated based on FTE.
