Education

  • Graduate of an Approved two year Nuclear Medicine Certification Program

Experience / Qualifications

  • Florida State Licensure; Certified Radiologic Technologist   
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and / or American Registry Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine -ARRT,(N)
  • American Heart Assocation BLS for Health Care Provider
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing

Position Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist manages all technical and clinical aspects of nuclear testing. The Technologist is responsible for the safe acquisition, distribution and disposal of Radioactive Material to perform testing and treatment of patients. 

  • Confers with the Radiologists when issues arise regarding the quality of nuclear images.
  • Maintains accurate records of nuclear department to assure that all licensure requirements are fulfilled. 
  • Establishes and maintains all nuclear medicine quality control standards.
  • Complies with all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and miscellaneous requirements contained in the Radiation Safety Program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk for long periods of time, be flexible enough to twist, bend, lift, assist, transport patients via wheelchair & stretcher.  Be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.

Threshold Requirements

  • These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis
    • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation
    • TB/PPD Surveillance Program
    • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
