Corewell Health Vascular Surgery is recruiting a highly motivated, full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (1.0 FTE) to join our dynamic Vascular Surgery team at Butterworth Hospital. This role begins as a primarily inpatient position on a 24/7 academic vascular service, with the opportunity to grow into a hybrid inpatient/outpatient role over time.
The Vascular APP provides comprehensive inpatient care including rounding on admitted patients, discharge planning, assessment and management of critically ill patients, care coordination, first evaluation and treatment planning as well as management of the postoperative vascular surgery patient. The position offers exposure to medically complex patients, in a supportive learning environment. Our APP teams function collaboratively with our physician colleagues in a team-based care model to provide high-level vascular care. The ideal candidate will be a part of a cohesive team working closely with our physician colleagues, fellow physicians, resident physicians, and all members of the patient’s care team to provide evidence based, collaborative patient care. Limited first-assist opportunities may occur, though this is not an operating room-focused role.
Anticipated Schedule includes:
12 hour day shifts
Rotating night shift and Saturday coverage. This role is a key part of our inpatient 24/7 service and supports the team with multiple patient care activities. Our robust and experienced existing APP team shares a portion of night and weekend coverage requirements with the residents/fellow.
Candidates with scheduling flexibility are preferred due to the demands of a 24/7 service and the dynamics of coverage shared with residents and fellows on the academic team.
Advanced Practice RN applications must have RNFA and previous OR experience.
Preferred candidates will have previous vascular, hospitalist, or primary care APP experience; however, new graduates will also be considered.
Nurse Practitioner applicants will be required to have a Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) certification and previous OR experience.
