The NPI Engineering Technician position requires focused attention to details of high-complexity products while supporting the various team members in the timely and accurate completion of the phased gate NPI activities.
What You Will Do:
This role is responsible for supporting the activities of the New Product Introduction from design to release and ensuring that all team members complete the critical phases.
Provides review and understanding of assembly drawings (dimensioning/tolerances) and instructions.
Review of document packages for completeness. This includes the bill of materials, work instructions, test procedures, drawings, basic schematics, special instructions, etc.
Prepares assembly work instructions as required.
Ensures manufacturing processes are clear error-proofed, and consistent.
Coordinates New Product Introduction (NPI) work instruction accuracy with NPI engineering team
Assures that all required customer and company work standards are properly documented.
Collaborates with the NPI Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, Quality, production assemblers.
What You Need:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an Electronics/Manufacturing/assembly environment
Bachelor/Associate degree is preferred.
Must possess a informed understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes and exposure to various component and standards applications (SMT, Through-Hole, Cable & Wire Harness, IPC, etc.)
Must have strong communication and organization skills – written and verbal.
Clearly demonstrate flexibility and self-discipline to plan/accomplish objectives while multi-tasking and prioritizing in a clear timeline.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, some work instruction software (VKS and ProPlanner preferred), ERP system experience (Glovia), Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Project, and/or Project Planning skills.
