JOB SCOPE:
The NPI Supplier Chain Planner reports into the global supply chain organization, working closely with the NPI Supply Chain PM, supporting the BU by leading the planning and execution of materials and orders through the development phase of a program(s)
JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management and Cross Functional Coordination
- Coordination and ongoing alignment of supply vs demand with suppliers, contract manufacturers and internal manufacturing sites
Item Setup, Procurement and Logistics
- Coordinate the execution or part setup in the ERP system (warehouse assignments, item pricing)
- Ensure materials are ordered (create PRs) in support of the build plan(s)
- Monitoring purchase orders, communicate with suppliers and escalate as necessary
- Manage NPI material flow and transactions between sites / warehouse locations and CMs
Material Planning and Change Management
- Align material drive to NPI build and production ramp plans
- Development and manage risk buys and material ramp plans internally and with CMs
- Manage the material impact and disposition resulting from revision, AML and BOM updates
- Support split or qual matrix build plans
Build Planning and Scheduling
- Manage supply vs demand while understanding capacity constraints and take appropriate action
- Planning and scheduling of customer orders through the NPI phase
Production Transfer
- Ensure material drive supports the product ramp, enabling smooth transition to the production demand management team
- Identify and support the disposition of any NPI material / E&O
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
- Global NPI Supply Chain Planners, Program Managers and Buyers
- Product Line Managers, Engineering, Engineering Program Managers and Commodity Managers
- Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs)
- Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers
- Lumentum manufacturing site NPI Program Managers, Planners and Buyers
QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ SKILLS:
PREFERENCES:
- ERP / MRP experience, preferably Oracle
- PLM experience, preferably Agile or Siemens Teamcenter
- Direct work experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) / product development
- Experience with electronics, sheet metal, machined / casted, injection molded and optical component commodities
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Domestic and international travel may be required
