Reporting to Sr. Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for designs, develops, modifies and evaluates options and makes complex design recommendations to fulfill requirements. Assesses results for applicability, validity and conformance with design specifications. Performs moderate design and skilled technical tasks.
About the job:
- 50% of time will be spent on the development of overcurrent protection products. First will receive training to learn special knowledge (fuse, 5 phase process……), participate in new project development to learn how to develop fuse. Once complete the training and get the experience, will start leading the new project with the support and help of the supervisor, leading a cross-functional development team while managing the technical aspects of the development process. Develop initial concept as well as prototype plan and execute project from planning/feasibility stage through production release. Managing resources to meet project goals and schedule, deliver documents such as DFMEA/Drawing/Validation report, conduct regular project review meeting with project team members and manager team to report the project progress and challenges, provide effective solutions or actions for the challenges.
- 20% of time will be focused on research of new materials and process technologies that may be beneficial in developing/manufacturing "ground-breaking" or "new-to-market" products. This research should include basic experimentation/prototyping to prove or disprove the benefits for said technologies.
- 15% of this engineer's time will be utilized for providing technical support for process development, sales/marketing, and quality teams as it relates to product performance, capability and reliability.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Mechanical Engineering similar.
- Minimum 3+years of experience in new product development, preferred for working experience in electronics component, especially for fuse/breaker/relay development.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English is a plus
- Having applied knowledge of state-of-the art engineering tools (3D CAD, etc) and know well of DFMEA and APQP, will be better.
- Result-oriented and self-initiated professional.
