Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

The Category Management function oversees the product offering, positioning, and pricing throughout the product life cycle for a specific portfolio. This role guides direct and indirect sales teams on product-related aspects and adjusts product decisions to meet business objectives. It is the lead expert on competitive product knowledge, including product details, pricing, marketing, and customer requirements. The role involves communicating and supporting sales teams on product strategies and defining advertising and demand generation priorities in collaboration with Marketing. This is a sales-compensated role with an overlay quota, focusing on selling to customers, typically outside HPE offices.

Management Level Definition:

This role applies subject matter knowledge to solve diverse and complex business issues, recommending appropriate alternatives. It involves working on complex problems and may lead team activities, facilitating information validation and decision-making processes. The role requires independent judgment to identify and select solutions and may seek advice for complex business decisions.

In the role of Nordic Cluster Compute Attach Services Category Manager your main focus areas are:

  • Including Services Attached to every computing unit

  • Building new attach services to be in line with the changing market (AI, Compute, Cooling, … )

  • Understand category products, business management, and sales challenges and strategies.

  • Contribute to defining the category business plan.

  • Establish relationships and represent the team with senior-level sales and partners.

  • Hold product line and quota responsibility for a significant product range or specific customer segment.

  • Lead functional areas such as market analysis, marketing engagement, and sales force communication.

  • Engage in partnerships with external IT vendors.

  • Knowledge and Skills:

  • IT industry knowledge.

  • Multidimensional business planning skills.

  • Financial planning and modeling skills for high-complexity business planning and reporting.

  • Strong communication skills with senior management internally and externally.

  • Knowledge of promotional marketing processes and practices.

  • Negotiation skills and ability to frame product value propositions to customers/partners.

  • Leadership skills and cross-functional expertise (sales, supply chain, marketing).


Education and Experience Required

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent.

  • Experience: 5–8 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Market expertise: Strong understanding of the local Danish, Norwegian, or Finnish market dynamics and business landscape, as well as the company’s product portfolio.

  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, supply chain, finance, and other teams.

  • Strategy & analysis: Strategic thinker with experience building business plans and analyzing reports/market data to drive decisions.

  • Languages: Native Danish, Finnish, or Norwegian, and advanced to bilingual proficiency in English.

  • Communication: Proactive, clear communicator with internal and external stakeholders.
