Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Non Destructive Test (NDT) Manager of Operations – Level 1 to join our team in Promontory, UT. The preferred location for this role is Promontory, UT. May consider one of the following major Space sector locations: Clearfield, UT.

Lead a team of skilled NDT technicians and technician team supervisors in ensuring product quality. Execution excellence of daily activities for multi-shift operations across multiple locations

In this job, you will:

  • Ensure daily safe execution of hazardous operations to AHOPS, SA-22 and other requirements

  • Manage demand of NDT inspections with schedulers, Ops, and VSETs

  • Manage department’s NDT certification compliance to NAS-410 and act as department responsible level III per QA-16

  • Coordinate work across NDT organization to support peak demand and overtime

  • Manage budget, down time, and organization’s SQDEC board

  • Provide input for OSCB/PPCB, Program Management, Change Boards, and Senior Management.

  • Manage personnel development and track performance

  • Other duties as assigned

  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Approved STEM Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of professional experience – OR – Approved STEM Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience.  

  • No clearance required to start

  • Four or more years in leadership/supervisory role in manufacturing or quality operations

  • Working knowledge of NDT Methods, Change Management processes and quality procedures.

  • Hold one or more NDT Level II certifications and have the capability to obtain at least one level III certification.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with internal and external customers

  • Demonstrated organization and communication skills in a high pace environment

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to coach, develop and mentor others

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Ability to drive change through creating, sustaining and improving standards and procedures

  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture.

  • Broad understanding of company policies and procedures.

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $104,500.00 - $156,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
