Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a dedicated Node.js Developer to join our software engineering team. In this role, you will develop, maintain, and optimize scalable, high-availability RESTful APIs and microservices. Your work will support core business functions, enable digital initiatives, and ensure system reliability in a fast-paced enterprise environment. Collaborating across teams, you will contribute to building innovative, secure, and efficient backend systems aligned with organizational goals.
Software Requirements
Required: Node.js (version 14+), JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript (minimum 1 year experience), Docker, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
Preferred: GraphQL, API gateway integrations (e.g., 3Scale), monitoring tools (New Relic, DataDog), message queues (Kafka, AWS SQS, Azure Service Bus)
Experience level: Proven hands-on experience designing and managing scalable, distributed backend systems
Overall Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js and related frameworks
Implement GraphQL APIs and integrate with API gateways for secure, controlled access
Optimize system performance through troubleshooting, tuning, and monitoring
Collaborate with front-end teams, security, and DevOps to deliver integrated solutions
Uphold best practices in coding, security, testing, and documentation
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues
Contribute to agile development processes, including planning, stand-ups, and code reviews
Ensure system stability, performance, and security through regular maintenance and upgrades
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
Required: Node.js, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript (at least 1 year hands-on)
Preferred: Other scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation
Databases/Data Management:
Experience with relational databases, NoSQL, message queues (Kafka, SQS, Azure Service Bus)
Cloud Technologies:
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) deployment and management
Frameworks and Libraries:
Experience with Express.js, GraphQL, API Gateway integrations, and caching mechanisms
Development Tools & Methodologies:
Proficient with Git, containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes preferred), and CI/CD pipelines
Security Protocols:
Knowledge of OAuth, JWT, SSO, and other token-based authentication mechanisms
Experience Requirements
At least 5 years of professional experience developing backend systems with Node.js
Proven expertise building scalable, resilient RESTful APIs and microservices in enterprise environments
Hands-on experience with performance tuning, debugging, and system monitoring
Preferably with experience in banking, financial technology, or regulated industries
Alternative pathways include extensive experience managing distributed backend services or security-focused system development
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop and optimize backend services and APIs to support core business functions
Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and perform optimization tasks
Collaborate with product managers, QA, and frontend teams on feature implementation
Conduct code reviews and participate in architectural discussions
Maintain comprehensive documentation of system designs and code
Stay informed on emerging technologies and best practices for backend development
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; equivalent industry experience is acceptable
Certifications such as Certified Node.js Developer, cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) preferred
Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional growth in backend development
Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments and actively contributing to team goals
