JOB SUMMARY:
The Junior CAM Development Engineer begins their career journey by supporting the global CAM development team in building and maintaining CAD/CAM automation solutions. They perform structured assignments, apply established procedures, and gain hands‑on experience with software and automated manufacturing equipment. Working under guidance, they contribute to projects in the medical/dental technology domain while developing technical skills and collaborating with colleagues to ensure reliable production outcomes.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Develop new CAM-automation processes; maintain and update existing processes, keeping them current and as efficient as possible.
- Recommend milling strategies and collaborate with team to find best solutions in CAM-automation.
- Participate in conference calls, as needed, with global teams on solutions.
- Provide regular written and verbal status progress reports and project updates; communicate next steps to management as required.
- Actively participate in the development and roll-out of new system worldwide.
- When needed, support production operations, quickly respond to production issues, conduct root cause analysis, define temporary work-arounds, develop and implement long-term solutions.
- Support prototyping and voice of customer experimentation.
- Document work and development through different document type according to company standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in similar engineering role; Exposure to CNC machining, CNC CAM programming preferrable OR combined equivalent experience in the following areas: engineering experience, hands-on CNC machining experience, CNC CAM programming experience using PowerMill or equivalent software.
- Must be available to work on site, as required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in PowerMILL, PowerSHAPE (Delcam/AutoDesk) (preferred).
- Working knowledge of milling and turning industries, eg. develop cutting data, develop/find milling tool (preferred).
- Expertise in CAM automation and industrial solutions (preferred).
- Familiarity with manufacturing automation processes (preferred).
- Experience with 5-axis CNC controllers (e.g., Fanuc, Roeders, Heidenhain) (preferred).
- Programming knowledge in C#, JavaScript (preferred).
- Experience with Post Processors (preferred).
