Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced NI-Way4 Testing Specialist to join our testing team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing testing activities related to the NI-Way4 suite within the financial services domain, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, functional, and reliable banking solutions. You will collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and development teams to perform comprehensive testing, verify functionalities, and support defect management, contributing to the successful implementation and stability of payment systems and merchant lifecycle operations.
Software Requirements
Required:
Proficiency with NI-Way4 platform, especially PI execution and merchant lifecycle workflows
Experience in BRD/BSO/DOU analysis and test planning based on functional specifications
Data preparation, test execution, defect management, and reporting tools
Familiarity with reporting tools used within payment systems environments
Preferred:
Exposure to SOD/ETL processes and their verification
Experience with reporting and data verification in payment and acquiring modules
Overall Responsibilities
Analyze business requirements (BRD/BSO/DOU) and develop detailed test plans and test cases accordingly
Prepare test data, execute functional and regression testing, and verify system outputs according to specifications
Manage defects through appropriate tracking tools, coordinate defect resolution activities, and verify fixes
Monitor daily testing status, generate status updates, and prepare closure reports for testing phases
Coordinate regularly with project leads and project managers to ensure testing progress aligns with project timelines
Support end-to-end testing of merchant lifecycle processes, including onboarding, acquiring, and related workflows
Conduct SOD/ETL and report data verification to ensure data integrity and accuracy
Collaborate on test environment setups, test data management, and issue resolution activities
Maintain documentation of testing activities, issues, and resolution steps
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency and quality
Technical Skills (By Category)
Testing & Functional Skills:
Strong understanding of merchant lifecycle processes and Way4 payment systems
Experience executing Way4 PI (Payment Interface) workflows and transactions
Familiarity with acquiring processes and related payment modules
Knowledge of SOD, ETL, and report data verification methodologies
Tools & Methodologies:
Test planning, script development, execution, and defect tracking
Knowledge of test management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM) and reporting standards
Active involvement in Agile testing practices and continuous testing frameworks
Scripting/Automation (Preferred):
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, UNIX shell scripting) for automation of repetitive testing tasks
Data & Reporting:
Experience validating transactional data, reports, and audit trails within payment systems
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 5 years experience in functional testing within the banking or financial services industry
Proven experience specific to NI-Way4 payment systems testing, especially with PI execution and merchant onboarding scenarios
Extensive knowledge of payment processing workflows, acquiring, and data verification
Experience with related compliance and security standards in transaction processing environments is a plus
Prior exposure to testing in distributed, high-volume transactional ecosystems is advantageous
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop test cases based on business requirements and process documentation
Execute functional, regression, and data verification tests for payment systems and merchant modules
Track, prioritize, and report defects using defect management tools
Collaborate closely with project teams to resolve issues and coordinate testing activities
Prepare daily status reports and post-testing closure summaries for management review
Participate in sprint planning, review sessions, and defect triage meetings
Assist in environment setup, test data provisioning, and test documentation efforts
Continuously identify areas for process improvement and test automation opportunities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Banking, Finance, or equivalent industry experience
Certification or training in payment systems testing or related areas preferred
Familiarity with NI-Way4 platform, payment transaction workflows, and merchant onboarding processes
