About the Role

Responsible for determining the acceptance and the associated rates and benefits of the insurance applications based on guidelines set for the issuance of AIA insurance policies

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To underwrite cases according to Company’s established guidelines/procedures and to maintain department’s set service standards, which include approves underwriting cases with prudent & within authority empowered.  Recommend to Team leader/Manager underwriting decision beyond own underwriting limit.
  • Assist whenever necessary to guide, provide support and coaching the team members, especially the junior staff or newcomers in their daily work.
  • To maintain & build good working relationship with all levels, including agency force and other supporting Departments, colleagues, Supervisors to achieve the common objectives/goals of the Department & Company.
  • To ensure continuous compliance of regulations/procedures set for New Business Department.
  • To perform other responsibilities and duties this may be assigned from time to time by the Section Head/HOD in order to meet operational and/or other requirements. Able to carry out the assignments/ responsibilities effectively and in timely manner, organize and set priorities accordingly to Department needs.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare and/or life science related fields (e.g., Medical Sciences, Biomedical, Biotechnology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health Science) .
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.0 and above.
  • Fresh graduates or up to 1 year experience are welcome.
  • Strong analytical thinking with interest in medical/financial risk assessment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High learning agility, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Comfortable with structured decision-making and managing detailed information.
