The Department of Neuroradiology at the West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute is seeking a Neuroradiologist (ranks available are Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
Duties: In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications: The candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Candidate must have completed radiology residency program and neuroradiology fellowship program and must be ABR eligible/certified as well as Neuroradiology CAQ eligible/certified. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
The West Virginia University Neuroradiology Department is an innovative initiative and one of the first in the country. It continues the integration of neurological care, research, and education under the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. The department offers the full gamut of advanced neuroimaging services that underpin all facets of clinical and academic neurosciences – from early diagnosis to neuroimaging guided brain therapies for a wide range of functional and cognitive disorders. The department manages a large magnetic resonance imaging operation and provides consultation services to the entire health system.
An imaging analytics and informatics division of the department is spearheading initiatives in artificial intelligence and federated research. This has the potential to transform multicenter research collaboration, clinical trials, and utilizing big data to improve patient care. Our mission is to provide excellent patient care, quality education, and exceptional service to the state of West Virginia and surrounding communities.
The department has a nationally recognized Neurointerventional program for state-of-the-art management of cerebrovascular disorders and stroke. Participation and leadership in innovative clinical trials have put this program at the forefront of minimally invasive treatment of head, neck, and spine pathologies.
The department has two accredited fellowship programs, a diagnostic neuroradiology fellowship accredited by the ACGME and an endovascular neurosurgery fellowship accredited by CAST.
The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) is a comprehensive multidisciplinary patient care, education, and research institute providing neurological and mental healthcare through more than 300,000 visits annually.
