The Neurophysiology Coordinator is a clinically competent technologist whose primary objective is to oversee management across multiple sites in directing the clinical and operational aspects of the Neurophysiology department. In this role, you will work with the appropriate personnel to promote service line expansion of all related services, which will lead to better patient outcomes and experiences. You will also help with the growth of Cleveland Clinic in Indian River County through ensuring success for the team. The ideal caregiver for this role will have strong leadership qualities and be able to handle coordinating complex schedules for the team. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM – 4:00PM or 9:00AM – 6:30PM, including an on-call rotation and some weekends and holidays. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Coordinate the work activities of the Neurophysiology department to include all technologists across multiple sites. 

  • Be responsible for interviewing and training. 

  • Provide feedback for performance evaluation and make personnel action recommendations (e.g. promotions, transfers, disciplinary and discharge) under the supervision of the Clinical Manager. 

  • Consult with on-site work leaders to coordinate day-to-day operations, patient scheduling, staff scheduling, on-call coverage and equipment utilization. 

  • Collaborate with other hospital departments and act as a liaison to hospital market leadership as needed to ensure the coordination of patient care. 

  • Collaborate with appropriate departments to promote service line expansion and staffing model efficiency. 

  • Coordinate service and maintenance of equipment within assigned sites. 

  • Assist in introducing, implementing, establishing and monitoring departmental OKRs and/or hospital plans, goals or activities as requested within assigned sites. 

  • Communicate patient care issues, department issues and other significant situations to the appropriate management in a timely manner. 

  • Ensure communication with family and health professionals concerning the care of patients. 

  • Serve as patient advocate and facilitate resolution of problems or dilemmas. 

  • Coordinate and monitor orientation, training and mentoring of staff and students. 

  • Provide direct care to patients on a regular basis to maintain clinical skills and ensure efficient operations. 

  • Maintain the level of competency needed to work independently as a Neuro Lab technologist. 

  • Collaborate with other management to formulate and revise protocols and standards of care as they relate to the specific patient population. 

  • Participate in regulatory functions including data collection, department inspections, issue resolution and timely pursuit of accreditations, registrations and regulatory requirements. 

  • Serve as a point person for any onsite regulatory review. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Four years of recent technical experience in the Neurophysiology environment 

  • Registered Electroencephalograms Tech (REEGT) and/or Certified Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring (IOM) 

  • OR Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) 

  • OR Registered or Certified through The American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET), as R.NCS.T 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Associate’s Degree in an accredited program OR minimum of two years of college in related patient care field 

  • Background working in a hospital-setting 

  • Training experience 

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity in order to place electrodes precisely and to operate recording equipment.

  • Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs.

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.

  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
