Neurology Technologist IJob Description
Neurology Technologists coordinate the activities of the Neurology (EEG Services). Performs EEGs and assists neurologist with performance of EMGs, including performing nerve conduction velocities.
Hours: Full-time/40 hours a week
Requirement: HS Diploma; EEG Certification; BLS or CPR within 90 days.
Pay: Based on experience, starting at $23.87
Responsibilities
Assists neurologist elsewhere as needed., Demonstrates working knowledge of neurology and electromyography., Explains testing procedures for EEG and EMG to patient and family., Keeps equipment clean and in proper working order. Makes appropriate adjustments to settings, etc. to obtain accurate results., Maintains supply inventory at appropriate levels and utilizes supplies appropriately., Obtains accurate and concise patient histories, Performs EEGs and EMGs including NCVs, according to the standards of the laboratory, resulting in high quality EEG and EMG exams., Prepares patients and equipment for requested examinations to include verification of physician orders., Produces accurate and complete EEG and EMG reports at end of tracing with emphasis on clinical observations., Recognizes, monitors, and/or eliminates all artifacts and performs routine activation procedures such as hyperventilation., Responds appropriately to patient emergencies and takes appropriate precautions to prevent patient infections., Understands the effects that medications can have on EEGs and EMGs., Verifies MD orders by checking written order & verified patient ID.Requirements
