Based onsite in Melbourne, this role offers close collaboration with Sales, customers, and channel partners, with direct ownership of pre-sales technical engagement, solution architecture, and professional services delivery for M2M connectivity solutions.

Job Summary

The Network Solutions Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end delivery and support of M2M connectivity solutions, covering pre-sales technical support, solution design and consulting, proof-of-concept implementation, professional services delivery, and operational support.
 

This is a highly customer-facing role requiring strong expertise in M2M connectivity architectures, secure communications, and multi-network environments, with the ability to translate customer use cases into scalable, reliable connectivity solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & M2M Solution Design (25%)

• Partner closely with the Sales team to design and position secure M2M connectivity solutions, providing technical leadership throughout the sales cycle.

Customer Engagement & Delivery (25%)

• Engage directly with customers to understand and document M2M connectivity requirements, designing and implementing Proof of Concept (PoC) and pilot deployments ahead of production rollout.

Operations & Support (25%)

• Manage network changes and support requests, including critical incidents and outages, ensuring resolution in line with agreed SLAs, Statements of Work (SoWs), and operational processes.

Partner Enablement (10%)

• Enable and train channel partners to independently deliver M2M connectivity solutions, reducing dependency on internal engineering teams.

Product & Technology Alignment (15%)

• Maintain deep knowledge of Semtech’s M2M connectivity portfolio, staying aligned with evolving products, features, and technologies to enhance ongoing customer solution designs.

Other Responsibilities

• Research emerging technologies in M2M connectivity, networking, and security, contributing to technical best practices and knowledge sharing within the team.

Minimum Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electronics, Communications, Networks, or equivalent
• 6+ years of experience in designing, delivering, and supporting network solutions in the M2M space
• Proven experience in pre-sales, solution consulting, services delivery, and operational support

Desired Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing mobile and/or satellite network solutions
