GDIT has an opening for a Network Services Subject Matter Expert in support of the Army National Guard (ARNG) located in Falls Church, VA. Join us on a pivotal IT Service Management (ITSM) contract that drives the modernization, expansion, and evolution of the ARNG’s global IT services. The program’s focus includes IT infrastructure, WAN, authentication, directory services, cybersecurity, application hosting, and more, leveraging the ITIL framework to deliver excellence in IT services to the ARNG.

How a Senior Network Services Subject Matter Expert Will Make an Impact:

As a Network Services SME, you will:

  • Strategize and Innovate: Support the network services team in developing complex solutions to meet ARNG strategic projects and initiatives.

  • Implement Advanced Network Solutions: Configure, manage, and maintain physical and virtual infrastructures, including:  Cisco routers, Layer 3 switches, Firewalls, Palo Alto IDS/IPS.

  • Ensure Operational Excellence: Perform required maintenance during off-hours. Provide support for 24x7 operations of a large enterprise infrastructure. Adhere to established schedules and best practices.

  • Maintain Compliance:  Implement and maintain DISA STIGs baselines in accordance with quarterly releases.  Support CORA inspections required to maintain Authority to Operate (ATO).

  • Develop and Document SOPs: Create and maintain standard operating procedures.

  • Analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions for complex problems.

  • Conduct maintenance and upgrades for network devices, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and remote access systems.

  • Create and defend system change requests.

  • Develop, maintain, and implement a proactive capacity planning model to enhance business decision-making.

  • Maintain network integrity and connectivity by ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

  • Coordinate acquisition of hardware, software, and subcontractor services as needed.

  • Plan and configure systems for data communication networks to meet ARNG needs.

  • Design and build hardware and software components for complex computer or telecommunications networks.

  • Evaluate emerging communications technologies to enhance network capabilities.

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant and emerging technologies to ensure consistent technical performance.

  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset, Familiarity with ITIL processes, Proven ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT preferred.  High School Diploma; AA/AS/BA/BS preferred or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience (10+ years of relevant experience as an Information Technology professional).

Experience: 10+ years of experience with Cisco and Palo Alto Routing, Switching, IDS/IPS, and Firewall technologies.

Required Technical Skills: Strong understanding of: Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), Multi-VRF appliances, Firewall and IDS/IPS configurations and concepts.

Certifications: Must meet DoD IAT Level II IA Computing Environment (CE) certification at state date: (i.e. Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.).  Require Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher.  Desired Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

Security Clearance Level: Active SECRET security clearance required and must be maintained.

Location: Falls Church, VA. Three (3) days of onsite with up to two (2) days telework. Onboarding/transition in period requires on-site support up to 60 days. Work schedules are subject to change on direction by mission requirements from GDIT or USG leadership.

The likely salary range for this position is $153,000 - $207,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
