This role demands a proactive approach to network monitoring, rapid incident response, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless operations. An ideal candidate is a highly skilled and resilient network professional, adept at independent troubleshooting, project ownership, and committed to delivering exceptional service in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Squad Leadership & Client Management:

    • Manage clients within your assigned squad, acting as a primary technical point of contact.

    • Lead and mentor rotational offshore engineer resources, providing guidance and training.

    • Collaborate with other network engineers across squads and other technology towers (Windows, Citrix, Database, etc.) to resolve complex issues.

  • Network Monitoring & Reporting:

    • Continuously monitor Logic Monitor dashboards throughout the day, checking Bandwidth, QoS, and other critical charts for potential issues.

    • Generate and present comprehensive reports to leadership and squad clients on squad performance and network health.

  • Incident & Request Management:

    • Respond and act on tickets with urgency to prevent breaches of NCT (Next Check Time) and maintain high CEQ (Customer Experience Quality) audit scores.

    • Actively participate in all Major Incidents (MI) related to your squad, assisting clients with network health checks and in-depth troubleshooting.

    • Independently troubleshoot, resolve, and conduct root cause analysis for network issues, major incidents, and outages.

    • Independently process routine requests for network services, access, and documentation.

  • Technical Operations & Project Ownership:

    • Configure, maintain, and operate a variety of network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and monitoring tools.

    • Independently own and drive major or multiple concurrent minor network infrastructure projects from concept to completion, including requirements gathering, task delegation to peers, implementation, reporting to senior leadership, turn-up, testing, and hand-off.

    • Work diligently to remediate any audit findings within your squad to ensure compliance.

  • Mentorship & Cross-Functional Expertise:

    • Provide mentoring and training to engineering resources on the team, including peers and junior engineers.

    • Maintain a broad understanding of the function of multiple technology fields, including applications, server infrastructure, database, and web, and how they interoperate with the network infrastructure.

  • Commitment & Availability:

    • Be prepared for workload efforts that consistently extend beyond standard shift hours.

    • Participate in an on-call rotation as a mandatory requirement of the role.

    • Demonstrate the ability to deliver on senior leadership requests, even under highly stressful conditions, with very short timely commitments.

Role Requirements

  • Total Years of Experience: 2-5 years of progressive experience in network engineering and operations, with demonstrated ability to lead or guide junior resources.

  • Relevant Years of Experience in Technical Skills:

    • 2-3 years configuring, maintaining, and operating enterprise-grade network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers).

    • 1-2 years with network monitoring tools, with specific experience in Logic Monitor highly preferred.

    • 1+ year integrating and managing networking components within Cloud Providers, specifically Azure.

  • Mandatory Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in network troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution.

    • Hands-on experience with network device configuration and management (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, etc., or similar enterprise vendors).

    • Proven ability to guide or mentor junior/rotational engineering resources.

    • Experience participating in or leading minor network infrastructure projects from initiation to completion.

    • Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, routing protocols, switching, VPNs, QoS).

    • Experience with ITIL processes, particularly incident, problem, and change management.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction, reporting, and documentation.

    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    • Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and working extended hours when necessary.

  • Good to Have / Preferred Skills:

    • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, Microsoft Azure certification).

    • Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network tasks.

    • Familiarity with IT security best practices and compliance frameworks.
