Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced NOC Manager to lead and oversee enterprise-wide network operations, incident resolution, and support automation initiatives. This pivotal role involves managing a team responsible for maintaining network stability, security, and performance across LAN/WAN environments, including TOC operations. The incumbent will ensure high service availability, efficient support processes, and continuous improvement through technological innovation, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence.
Software Requirements
Required:
Network monitoring and management tools, such as Nagios, Splunk, or similar enterprise solution platforms
Experience with Cisco network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and their management tools such as Cisco Umbrella, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer
Ticketing and incident management systems, such as ServiceNow and Jira
Network automation and scripting tools (PowerShell, Python) for automation and support tasks
Knowledge of network protocol troubleshooting (BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VTP, STP) and firewall management (Fortigate)
Preferred:
Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and SD-WAN solutions
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) for network provisioning
Knowledge of security compliance standards related to network infrastructure
Overall Responsibilities
Lead the network operations team to ensure continuous, high-availability LAN/WAN networks and TOC operations
Oversee daily network monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and service disruptions
Manage network configuration, upgrades, and deployment activities across enterprise environments
Develop and enforce operational standards, best practices, and documentation for network processes and support activities
Coordinate rapid response and resolution of network outages, including cross-team troubleshooting and escalation procedures
Optimize network performance through capacity planning, infrastructure upgrades, and automation initiatives
Support support automation efforts to streamline incident management and reduce manual interventions
Collaborate with security teams to implement, monitor, and improve network security controls and policies
Conduct regular reporting, metrics tracking, and review meetings to communicate health and risks to stakeholders
Technical Skills (By Category)
Network Protocols:
Required: BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VTP, STP, and firewall management (Fortigate, Cisco)
Preferred: SD-WAN, VPN, MPLS, QoS, and other enterprise network protocols
Network Devices & Topologies:
Cisco switches, routers, Fortigate firewalls, Cisco Umbrella, VPNs, load balancers, and SD-WAN equipment
Network Monitoring & Management:
Nagios, Splunk, Cisco Prime, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, or similar tools
Automation & Scripting:
PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform for network automation and support scripting
Cloud & Infrastructure:
Basic understanding of cloud networking platforms such as AWS or Azure supporting hybrid and virtualized environments
Experience Requirements
8+ years of experience managing network operation centers, incident management, or enterprise network support
Proven experience supporting LAN/WAN environments, Cisco network infrastructure, and enterprise firewalls
Demonstrated success in network troubleshooting, incident management, and support automation
Experience supporting support automation initiatives and implementing network security best practices
Industry experience in finance, healthcare, or high-availability enterprise environments is preferred
Day-to-Day Activities
Monitor network performance, health, and incident logs proactively to prevent outages
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across LAN/WAN and security devices
Lead incident management, including root cause analysis, escalation, and resolution documentation
Support network configuration changes, upgrades, and deployment activities
Automate routine support and incident response tasks to improve operational efficiency
Conduct regular network performance reviews and capacity planning activities
Coordinate with security teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance standards
Mentor support team members and ensure effective shift coverage and support processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or related discipline
8+ years supporting enterprise networks, including LAN/WAN infrastructure, security, and incident management
Certifications such as Cisco CCNP, CWNA, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent are preferred
Proven ability to manage large, complex network environments and lead teams through operational challenges
