About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Network Manager on a hybrid basis to oversee the creation and maintenance of an efficient, cost-effective, and reliable network that meets the needs of both internal and external customers.

Initially working in the Beds & Bucks area, you’ll support the Head of Commercial in developing our network to connect communities, focusing on growth, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement network schemes and timetables to grow contribution and adapt to changing travel needs.
  • Analyse performance data (e.g., patronage, revenue, costs, punctuality) to shape solutions.
  • Register changes with the Traffic Commissioner.
  • Line-manage scheduler(s) to ensure efficient production of duties and rotas.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to communicate network updates to customers.
  • Oversee the complete network change process from planning to communication.
  • Manage tender and contract opportunities, designing solutions that integrate new developments.

Location: This is a hybrid position that involves travel throughout the Midlands region, with two days a week based at our Thurmaston office.


Salary: £38,365, increasing to £40,365 after six months’ probation

Candidate Profile
We’re seeking an enthusiastic, commercially minded transport professional with:

  • Operational and commercial experience
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with stakeholders (Operations, Finance, Marketing, Trade Unions, Local Transport Authorities)
  • Knowledge of scheduling software (Optibus preferred, though training is provided)
