About the Role
As a Network Engineer, you will lead the transition to a software-defined networking (SDN) strategy, emphasizing automation and integration with cloud-based and on-premises systems. You will design, develop and maintain Kohl’s network infrastructure, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and secure.
What You’ll Do
Leveraging software engineering practices, participate in code and design reviews
Lead the implementation of SDN strategies, focusing on automation and utilizing tools such as Ansible and GitLab
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize network requirements and provide technical guidance and support to other teams as needed
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, contributing to the development and improvement of network-related processes and tools
Remain up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, participating in network-related projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement
Additional tasks may be assigned
What Skills You Have
Required
Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, DNS/DHCP)
Experience with network design and implementation
Experience with network security (e.g., firewall configurations, VPNs), network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nmap) and network virtualization technologies (e.g., Cisco ACI, SDWAN, VMWare NSX, Linux KVM)
Experience with cloud-based networking (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure)
Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, GitLab)
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work well in a team
Understanding of basic concepts of Application Load Balancing
3+ years of relevant network engineering experience
Preferred
Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Network Engineer, or similar
Experience with additional automation tools and frameworks
Knowledge of DevOps practices and integration with CI/CD pipelines
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to drive innovation and implement best practices
Passion for continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies
