Network Engineer

Key Role:

Serve as a technical leader and hands-on engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and managing platform and network solutions that support U.S. government mission partner environments. Conduct site surveys and develop structured designs that address voice, data, security, and audio or visual systems, ensuring alignment with customer pain points, operational needs, Zero Trust objectives, and contractual requirements. Design engineered drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documentation to support end-to-end solution development. Collaborate closely with Enterprise Solutions, Delivery Services, Capability teams, IT and facilities personnel, project teams, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and technical stakeholders to analyze requirements and develop system designs, estimates, implementation plans, and structured cabling coordination across disciplines. Lead technical delivery activities as a hands-on contributor within multi-disciplinary teams. Implement final network and platform solutions to support on-premises and cloud environments. Manage the production and lifecycle of network devices, architecture design, and supporting documentation for deployment within global, data-centric mission partner networks. Apply IT Operations tools, cybersecurity capabilities, and assessment frameworks to modernize and strengthen Zero Trust infrastructures. Support research, rapid prototyping, and integration of emerging technologies to enhance interoperability, scalability, and mission readiness. Provide technical guidance, evaluation, and high-quality documentation to ensure successful solution implementation and mission partner alignment.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience designing, deploying, and providing advanced support for multi-protocol IP backbone and access networks

  • 2+ years of experience deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multivendor network and security technologies

  • 2+ years of experience documenting complex network and security systems and procedures for implementation and troubleshooting

  • Experience developing and deploying data-centric mission partner networks for U.S. government customers

  • Experience with Secret classified networks

  • Knowledge of policies regarding foreign mission partner information sharing, interoperability, integration, and Zero Trust principles

  • Knowledge of major routing, switching, and security protocols

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

 

Additional Qualifications: 

  • Experience with DoD networks

  • Experience deploying and configuring Software Defined Wide Area Network solutions

  • Experience operating, deploying, or administering Linux and Unix systems

  • Experience applying STIGs or performing security hardening

  • Experience operating, deploying, or administering Windows systems and services

  • Experience with commercial or DoD cloud network environments

  • CCNA, CCNP, VMware, JNCIA, or JNCP Certification

 Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
