Job Description:

DEPARTMENT: Information and Educational Technology Services

POSITION TITLE: Network Analyst

SUPERVISOR: Director of IT Operations and Support, IET Services

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide day‑to‑day support within the IT Help Desk, serving as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and students seeking technical assistance.
  • Act as the main IT liaison for physical security systems, coordinating technology support related to access control, camera systems, and other security‑related platforms.
  • Troubleshoot, document, and resolve hardware, software, network, and application issues; escalate complex problems as appropriate.
  • Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in diagnosing and resolving issues with University software systems and third‑party applications.
  • Analyze and assess existing business systems, workflows, and procedures to identify inefficiencies or opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with testing, implementation, and support of new or updated systems, software releases, and technology solutions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including incident records, system configurations, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide user training and guidance on IT systems, tools, and best practices as needed.
  • Follow established IT policies, security standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support IT operations and University objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or a minimum of five (5) years experience in the field.
  • Experience working in an IT support, help desk, or operations role.
  • Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed. Keen attention to detail. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical users.
  • Experience supporting IT systems in a higher‑education or public‑sector education environment.
  • Familiarity with physical security systems (e.g., access control, video management systems).
  • Knowledge of IT service management practices (e.g., ticketing systems, ITIL concepts).
