Overview:
The Network Analyst I serves as the front line of operational support within the Network Control Center (NCC), which operates as part of the broader Infrastructure Command Center (ICC). This role is responsible for real‑time monitoring, triage, escalation, and coordination of network and infrastructure events to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of the organization’s technology environment.
The NCC provides centralized command‑and‑control oversight, with a mission to proactively identify, manage, and resolve incidents before they impact customers, colleagues, or business operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor enterprise infrastructure and application environments using centralized monitoring tools.
- Acknowledge and triage system alerts, prioritizing critical (red) and major (orange) events according to defined SLA thresholds.
- Ensure problem or incident tickets are created and properly linked in ServiceNow within required timeframes.
- Manage the NCC ServiceNow queue by assigning and routing tickets at the start of each shift and as new issues arise.
- Perform initial impact analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation for network, server, and application incidents.
- Troubleshoot network and infrastructure issues involving routers, switches, wireless, data circuits, servers, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, SAN, and VoIP.
- Escalate incidents to senior team members, shift leads, or specialized teams when resolution exceeds defined thresholds.
- Coordinate communication with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders during incident response.
- Support high‑severity incidents by assisting peers and participating in coordinated response efforts.
- Track and support planned changes and work orders, ensuring they are monitored, executed, and closed appropriately.
- Complete detailed shift turnover reports summarizing incidents, escalations, and changes.
- Maintain clear, accurate ticket documentation and contribute to operational and technical documentation.
- Adhere to internal controls, risk management standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment aligned with organizational values.
- Participate in holiday and weekend shift coverage in a 24x7x365 environment.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Technical Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of Cisco routers and switches.
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN technologies, including Ethernet, Cable, DIA, MPLS, and BGP.
- Foundational understanding of server infrastructure, including Windows Server OS, VMware, and enterprise hardware (e.g., HP, Cisco UCS).
- Experience using enterprise monitoring and ticketing platforms (ServiceNow preferred).
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced, high‑availability environment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Clear and professional communication skills for interaction with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Education and Experience Required:
Associate’s degree and a minimum of 2 years’ network administrator experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 4 years’ higher education and/or work experience
Education and Experience Preferred:
- 4+ years of network or infrastructure administration experience.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+ certifications.
- Formal technology education (IT‑related coursework, degree, or equivalent training).
