GDIT has an opportunity for a COMSEC Network Administrator supporting U.S. Army Europe as a member of our EMITS Program Team in Poznan Poland.

 

This role serves as a Sr. Network Administrator for Network Operations supporting the region of Poland. The individual will perform the full range of technical O&M responsibilities while also providing site-level leadership, tracking all network issues, mentoring junior technicians, and serving as the primary point of contact for network operations at their assigned location.

Team members provide comprehensive LAN/WAN/ICAN network services to a cluster consisting of 3 sites, including router and switch configuration, COMSEC, VoIP provisioning, DISA Node Site Coordinator (NSC) support, WAN circuit management, and cybersecurity compliance. As part of the network team, this position will also require the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of copper and fiber cabling, along with associated communications equipment, in accordance with all applicable DoD standards.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Network Administrator Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.S. Army Europe and AFRICOM. You will play a crucial role in supplying mission command support.

  • Installs, configures, and maintains Cisco routers, switches, and networking software (current Cisco IOS).

  • Configures, manages, and troubleshoots LAN/WAN technologies including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VPN solutions, firewalls, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).

  • Provides support for COMSEC equipment, cryptographic devices, TACLANEs, and key management; CHIMERA/HAIPE experience a plus.

  •  In addition to full technical responsibilities listed above, the Senior Network Administrator will have the opportunity to:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for all network issues at their site, coordinating with theater-level leadership, DISA, higher headquarters, mission partners, and other technical teams.

  • Lead and mentor junior technicians, ensuring standardization, proper configuration, and compliance with cybersecurity and operational requirements.

  • Track, manage, and report all site-level network issues, degradation events, risks, maintenance actions, and long-term trends to leadership and program management.

  • Oversee day-to-day work execution, validate task completion, enforce configuration/change management processes, and maintain accurate operational documentation.

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts during outages or network degradation, performing hands-on diagnostics while directing junior personnel when necessary.

  • Coordinate cross-discipline support with System Administrators to resolve multi-layered issues and maintain mission continuity.

  • Maintain and validate network diagrams, accreditation artifacts, and configuration baselines for the location.

  • Assist with planning and execution of network modernization, lifecycle refreshes, and technology upgrades affecting the site.

  • Ensure compliance with all DoD, DISA, and EMITS program policies, producing timely and accurate reporting for mission partners and program leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education: BA/BS (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience: 10+ years of related experience

  • Technical skills: must have experience with cryptographic equipment and lifecycle support to include installing, securing and operating government procured COMSEC equipment. 

  • Security clearance level: Secret Clearance with a T5/SSBI investigation (required)

  • US citizenship required

  • Role requirements:  Demonstrated experience as a senior network technician or lead in a DoD or enterprise network environment. Experience configuring Cisco routing/switching technologies, CUCM, VPNs, firewalls, and advanced routing protocols. Knowledge of WAN circuits and experience with MPLS transport. Experience ensuring patch and IAVA compliance across network environments. Experience with TACLANE devices, cryptographic key management, and secure communications. Ability to work independently, remote environment and make rapid decisions during operational events. Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and an international driver’s permit. Must be willing to participate in an on-call schedule to ensure continuous network support. Strong communication skills and the ability to interface directly with leadership, mission partners, and stakeholders.

  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Required; Juniper certification or proven Juniper experience highly desired (e.g., JNCIA, JNCIS); DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification – Required; Computing Environment (CE) Certification – Required; (CCNP satisfies this requirement.); Ability to successfully complete the Cisco Collaboration Core (CLCOR) exam to support VoIP related requests; ITIL v4 Foundation certification – (within 90 days if not held at hire); IT Project Management certification preferred (Project+, CAPM, PMP); Fiber Optic Association (FOA) or BICSI certification preferred for fiber/ISP/OSP work.

The likely salary range for this position is $105,622 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
