NERC Compliance Analyst

Talen Energy is seeking a North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Compliance Analyst to be part of the compliance team. Support to be audit ready and improve compliance of NERC required programs across applicable registrations by conducting detail reviews and analysis of compliance evidence, report findings, and maintaining program documentation.

At Talen Energy, your work directly supports safe, reliable power generation. In this role, you’ll move beyond day‑to‑day contributions to drive meaningful change by:

 

  • Leading support of the NERC Internal Compliance Program (ICP) 

  • Maintaining the NERC Department SharePoint and Global Audit-Ready (GAR) documents accurate and up to date 

  • Tracking milestones, preparing reports, and expediting personnel as necessary to ensure the timely and quality completion of ICP milestones. 

  • Developing Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets (RSAWs) for Global Audit-Ready (GAR) and external audits  

  • Gathering, reviewing, and organizing evidence for GAR, checking this material for quality, and maintaining tracking tools current 

  • Providing Talen’s Global Audit-Ready (GAR) SME support to PNCs, and other NERC Group personnel 

  • Providing assistance to the NERC Compliance Director as needed 

  • Support the development of procedures, training materials, and related documentation aligned with applicable NERC reliability Standards.

  • Uploading timesheets and maintaining purchase orders documentation 

  • Working collaboratively across business unit lines to effectively communicate ICP needs, prompting completion of ICP assignments and serving as a resource where appropriate 

  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to customer service and high-quality compliance deliverables

  • Participating in CIP & Ops Planning Meetings and implementing initiatives to support Talen Energy’s ICP and compliance with NERC Reliability Standards 

  • Working collaboratively with business units to maintain monthly budget  

  • Participating in occasional onsite support assignments as needed.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed

 

What You Have

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in computer science, cybersecurity, communications, or business

  • Strong Administrative and computer experience

  • 1 years of experience in NERC CIP and 693 Reliability Standard knowledge or 1 year of compliance experience

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate cross-functionally, solve problems, adapt to changing regulations or processes, work collaboratively with diverse perspectives, effectively manage deadlines, and efficiently organize data.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Projects, SharePoint

  • Able to meet requirements for nuclear and NERC Medium Impact plants background clearance, where applicable.
