Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nephrologist (MD/DO) or New Graduate Nephrology Physician (MD) to provide comprehensive kidney care for residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, as well as patients receiving dialysis treatment.This position is based out of our Hollywood, FL office and will serve as a collaborating physician for advanced practice providers while also providing telemedicine (TeleDoc) support across our network of facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nephrology consultations and ongoing management for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease.
- Oversee dialysis treatment plans, adequacy, and patient outcomes for both facility-based and outpatient dialysis programs.
- Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and dialysis staff to ensure optimal clinical performance.
- Interpret and act on diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging to guide individualized treatment plans.
- Manage associated conditions such as hypertension, anemia, and fluid/electrolyte disorders.
- Serve as the collaborating physician for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in accordance with state practice regulations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care meetings and provide leadership for quality and performance initiatives.
- Provide telemedicine (TeleDoc) support and clinical oversight to providers across affiliated facilities.
- Educate patients and families on kidney disease management, dialysis options, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and participate in ongoing care coordination.
- Operate primarily out of the Hollywood, FL office while supporting remote clinical teams and patients as needed.
- Clinical management: Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnose conditions, and adjust dialysis treatment plans and medications in collaboration with a nephrologist.
- Patient monitoring: Continually oversee patients' health during and after dialysis, interpret lab results, and respond to any complications.
- Interdisciplinary coordination: Lead and collaborate with the facility's nursing staff, dialysis technicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Patient and family education: Educate patients and their families on kidney disease, the dialysis process, and critical lifestyle modifications like diet and fluid intake.
- Administrative documentation: Maintain precise and timely patient records, manage medication orders, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Patient advocacy: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and families, providing clinical and emotional support while coordinating care with specialists.
Requirements
- Must be an MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Must have completed an Internal Medicine Residency.
- Must have completed an accredited Nephrology Fellowship Program.

- Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology (or Board Eligible with certification in process).
- Experience as a Medical Director of a dialysis center required.
- Preferred LTC experience
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Florida
- Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and improving outcomes for patients with chronic kidney disease.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and stand / walk / work on your feet up to 6-8 hours per day
