Naval Power (NP) is seeking a highly motivated candidate to serve as the NP CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) Senior Manager to drive the adoption and integration of the CORE Operating System and RTX Life Cycle Program Management (RLPM) best practices into NP daily work. This leader will engage directly with Program Leadership Teams, Program Directors, and Program Managers to implement CORE and RLPM to improve execution and overall program performance. This role will drive engagements across a wide range of stakeholders; from NP LT level to the factory floor, including external customers and suppliers. Key attributes of this role include strong communication skills, facilitating and brokering solutions that solve problems, identifying opportunities, and improving the overall health of the NP business and key partnerships. This role will report directly to the NP CORE Director within the NP Performance Excellence organization.

Will You Will Do:

  • Implement CORE and RLPM Best Practices to Drive Business Results:
  • Engage with major NP R&O Owners to assess their Handling Plans and to ensure proactive use of CORE Tools/Methods are embedded into those Handling Plans as appropriate.
  • Review AOP and MBR materials, at the NP and SSBU levels, to drive improvements with CORE.
  • Drive CORE Control Rooms (CCRs) deployment across NP, including training and regularly evaluating CCRs for maturity/successful CCR adoption/implementation
  • Drive RTX Life Cycle Program Management (RLPM) cadence and metrics into CCRs
  • Conduct Engagements and utilize CORE Leadership Week approach.
  • Work with CORE Functional Homeroom to obtain SME resources as needed.
  • Assess NP strategic initiatives and apply CORE to facilitate achieving desired business objectives.
  • Engage with Functional CORE leaders to identify opportunities to apply CORE within NP.
  • Capture EAC benefit from NP CORE engagements
  • Cultural Adoption of CORE: Influence and drive the cultural adoption of CORE within the NP organization. This role will not just lead and help with focused projects, but will drive the cultural change of making CORE a way of life in NP.
  • Goal Alignment: Serve as the primary resource for driving Goal Alignment activities within NP. Lead the NP level and support the SSBU level Goal Alignment activities as requested.
  • Capability Development: Work with SSBU leadership teams to solicit CORE Expert nominations.
  • CORE Training/Certification: Work with HR Partners to drive Apprentice + Champion certification.
  • Work with NP Program Teams to develop NP CORE in Action examples
  • Assessing R&O with CORE performance and identifying potential “Lift and Leverage” opportunities
  • Coaching NP CORE Experts-in-Training

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years’ experience
  • Prior CORE, Lean Manufacturing, or Project Management experience
  • Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start. US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance


Qualifications We Prefer:

  • CORE Certification of Expert or Expert-in-Training
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complex topics both verbally and in writing
  • A strong appreciation of team culture and how to influence change

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
