Job Summary
The National Sales Manager – ANZ is responsible for leading and executing the strategic sales direction across Australia and New Zealand for ZOLL’s portfolio of resuscitation and acute critical care products. This role will drive high performance across the sales team, build strong customer relationships, and work cross-functionally to deliver revenue growth and market expansion aligned with ZOLL’s vision of improving outcomes for sudden cardiac arrest and critical care in the Hospital sector.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic sales leader with strong commercial acumen, an empowering leadership style, and a passion for delivering impactful health outcomes through medical technology. This job will be open to candidates based in NSW or QLD.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy
Lead the development and execution of ZOLL’s national sales strategy across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring alignment with APAC and global objectives.
Translate the company’s commercial vision into clear tactical plans that drive both short-term performance and long-term market growth.
Own the national sales forecast and pipeline, ensuring accurate and timely reporting through Salesforce and other sales tools.
Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and product expansion channels to drive top-line growth.
Oversee pricing strategy, discounting practices, and commercial negotiations in line with regional profit and margin expectations.
Team Leadership & Development
Manage, mentor, and empower a high-performing, diverse sales team including Territory Managers, Business Development Managers, and Clinical Specialists across multiple geographies.
Foster a performance-driven, customer-first team culture through consistent coaching, feedback, and leadership by example.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning, ensuring the team is resourced and skilled to meet evolving business demands.
Facilitate regular 1:1s, team meetings, field rides, and sales training sessions to drive engagement, capability, and retention.
Implement professional development plans tailored to individual strengths, career aspirations, and business needs.
Customer & Market Engagement
Serve as a senior point of contact for key customer relationships, including public and private hospitals, state health departments, and group purchasing organisations, a
Work collaboratively with the Clinical and Marketing teams to deliver a compelling, value-based proposition to clinicians, procurement teams, and executive stakeholders.
Attend key industry events, conferences, and forums to represent ZOLL, stay close to customer needs, and promote our leadership in resuscitation and critical care.
Champion a culture of deep customer understanding by integrating field intelligence into product positioning, training programs, and go-to-market strategies.
Business Development & Commercial Execution
Drive growth in both established and emerging market segments across the AED, Hospital, and military portfolios.
Manage national tender submissions, pricing proposals, and complex contract negotiations in collaboration with the Legal, Finance, and Regulatory teams.
Lead quarterly business reviews with sales staff to review territory performance, pipeline health, market coverage, and activity metrics.
Evaluate and refine sales processes and tools to maximise field productivity, customer coverage, and overall operational efficiency.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing to plan and execute national campaigns, clinical education programs, and lead-generation initiatives.
Collaborate with Customer Service, Operations, and Technical Support to ensure timely product delivery, post-sale support, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Work closely with Finance and Regional Leadership to manage P&L expectations, pricing policies, and inventory forecasting.
Represent the ANZ Sales team in APAC leadership meetings, sharing insights, challenges, and opportunities from the region.
Compliance, Governance & Reporting
Ensure the team operates in full compliance with ZOLL’s Code of Conduct, industry regulations, and local legal requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all major commercial decisions, quotations, and tenders.
Proactively manage risk through internal controls, ethical selling practices, and rigorous adherence to medical device regulations.
Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to senior leadership detailing commercial performance, strategic initiatives, and team development progress.
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential:
Proven experience (minimum 7–10 years) in medical device, healthcare, or pharmaceutical sales leadership roles.
Demonstrated success in managing and growing national sales teams across complex markets.
Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop talent.
Excellent strategic planning, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
High level of business and financial acumen.
Willingness to travel frequently across ANZ.
Desirable:
Prior experience in emergency medicine, cardiac care, or acute hospital settings.
Familiarity with public and private hospital procurement systems in Australia and New Zealand.
Experience working within a matrixed, multinational organisation.
