National Project Manager

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join Ecolab, delivering water treatment, utilities, and process water projects across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of capital works and system installation projects, from initial planning and design coordination through to execution, commissioning, and handover.

Ideally based in Melbourne or potentially Sydney for the right candidate, you will act as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and within budget across the ANZ region.

What you will do:

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with customer, regulatory, and business requirements

• Develop and manage detailed project schedules covering all phases from design through installation, commissioning, and handover

• Lead end-to-end delivery of commercial and industrial water treatment projects across ANZ

• Prepare project cost estimates and capital budgets and monitor project financial performance and ensure strict budget compliance

• Manage variations and approve change orders in line with governance requirements

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure HSEQ, progress, and compliance

• Coordinate internal engineering, installation, commissioning, and service teams

• Provide clear, timely communication and reporting to stakeholders and senior leadership

The ability to travel around ANZ with overnight stays is essential

What you will bring:

• High level experience delivering commercial or industrial water treatment or HVAC system, utilities, or process engineering projects

• Understanding of water treatment systems, installation practices, and commissioning

• Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications

• Working knowledge of pipework, pumps and storage tanks

• Proven leadership capability with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills

• Extensive and relevant field or project delivery experience highly valued

Education:

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or Project Management preferred

• Project management certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) are advantageous but not mandatory
