GenesisCare is seeking a strategic and experienced National Pharmacy Manager to lead and oversee our oncology pharmacy network.

 

This is a rare opportunity to shape national pharmacy strategy, influence patient outcomes at scale, and drive excellence in cancer care across a highly respected healthcare organisation.

 

We are open to appointing this role on a permanent full-time basis or maximum term contract, depending on the successful applicant’s preference.

 

Reporting to the General Manager, NSW, you will lead oncology pharmacy services across the GenesisCare network, providing strategic direction, clinical governance, and operational oversight. You will play a key role in advancing medication safety, performance, and high-quality patient care.

 

In this role you will:

  • Lead and oversee oncology pharmacy services nationally, ensuring safe, consistent, and high-quality patient-centred care across all sites.

  • Develop and execute a national pharmacy strategy aligned with organisational priorities, growth, and evolving oncology treatments.

  • Provide leadership in clinical governance, medication safety, quality improvement, and risk management across the network.

  • Ensure compliance with Australian legislation, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards (including TGA, NSQHS, and state-based legislation).

  • Oversee pharmacy operations, workforce capability, procurement, and supply chain management for high-cost oncology and hazardous medicines.

  • Manage national budgets and financial performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining clinical excellence.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop pharmacy leaders and specialist teams, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.

  • Partner with medical, nursing, executive, and external stakeholders to support integrated care, clinical trials, and service innovation.

  • Drive the implementation and optimisation of digital health systems to enhance safety, efficiency, and patient outcomes.

 

About you

You are an experienced oncology pharmacy leader with strong clinical governance expertise and a collaborative, strategic leadership style. You will bring:

 

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) recognised in Australia.

  • Current AHPRA registration.

  • Extensive oncology pharmacy experience, including cytotoxic compounding.

  • Senior leadership experience in a multi-site or complex healthcare environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Australian healthcare regulations and NSQHS Standards.

  • Proven capability in financial, operational, and quality management.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Oncology Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy, Health Management, or Business.

  • Membership with SHPA or another relevant professional body.

  • Experience in private healthcare and/or day oncology settings.

  • Exposure to clinical trials and investigational drug services.

  • Experience implementing or optimising digital health systems within Australian healthcare.
