About the role
Heidelberg Materials Australia is seeking a National People & Culture Business Partner to work closely with senior leaders across our national functions and Western Region, delivering strategic people solutions that enable safe, sustainable and high‑performing teams.
This is a highly influential role providing expert advice across workforce strategy, employee relations, talent, capability, major change initiatives and mergers & acquisitions. You will partner with leaders across Finance, IT, Legal, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing, while also supporting complex operational environments with large blue‑collar workforces.
The role also includes accountability for expatriate workforce governance and will play a key role in shaping future people leadership capability, with a clear pathway to transition into a manager‑level role.
Key responsibilities
Act as a trusted advisor to senior national and regional leaders
Translate business priorities into effective people and workforce strategies
Lead and advise on complex employee relations, performance and investigation matters
Support workforce planning, remuneration reviews and engagement initiatives
Drive talent, succession, leadership and capability development activities
Lead people aspects of major change programs and organisational design
Deliver people‑related due diligence and M&A integration activities
Provide workforce insights and data‑driven recommendations to leaders
Lead and develop People & Culture advisory capability within the region
About you
You are a confident senior HR business partner with strong commercial judgement, capable of influencing at executive level while remaining closely connected to operational teams.
You will bring:
Extensive experience as a senior HR / People & Culture Business Partner
Strong knowledge of employment legislation, ER/IR and governance frameworks
Experience supporting large, complex blue‑collar workforces
Proven change leadership and transformation experience
Strong stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills
Experience with workforce strategy, talent management and capability uplift
Exposure to M&A environments and post‑acquisition integration
