The Ecosystem manager reports to the Senior Brand Manager, Cardiology, and has the following key areas of responsibility:  to co-develop and support execution of field strategies and tactics, support Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), build partnerships with top strategic accounts, execute on field based marketing and commercial activities, and prospect and build partnerships with specialty pharmacies and external patient service organizations. 

This is a highly strategic, hands-on, and largely externally facing role involving relationship-building with physicians, provincial patient and HCP organizations, and key internal and external stakeholders to provide value to Sanofi, physicians, and patient communities.  Leveraging a deep understanding of political, economic, and business factors that influence the therapeutic area, this individual will generate insights through active internal and external cross-functional partnerships that will direct and inform brand strategy,

The Ecosystem Manager will also develop and lead the strategy for Sanofi’s participation in key conferences and provide strategic direction and oversight to day to day business

Your core responsibilities will include:

Regional KOL Development and Engagement (70% of Role):

  • Lead cross-functional strategy and tactic development for the following Key Opinion Leader customer groups: Cardiology, Endocrinology, Allied Health, and HCPs influential to lipid management in Ontario.

  • Develop and maintain strong KOL connections. Through engagement and interaction with the KOLs, gather insights, identify and anticipate trends and act on unmet client needs.

  • Work with the Marketing and Medical teams to ensure key stakeholder strategies compliment the overall brand strategy and work in collaboration with brand team to execute on key priorities.

  • Accountable for all regional Cardiology advisory boards.  Works closely with Marketing, Medical & other key internal stakeholder teams to develop and implement the programs.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the conference management strategy at Sanofi for all relevant Cardiology/Lipid management conferences. Works closely with the Sr. Marketing & Operations Specialist to implement plan and facilitate cross-functional attendance at conferences.

  • Identify market opportunities and customer priorities through competitive market analysis, positioning, and marketing strategy assessments.  Invest in field time with Ontario KAMs to unlock new opportunities and expand currently active accounts

  • Identify and develop breakthrough ideas or concepts that revolutionize the business and can make a difference for patients

  • Working with Medical Affairs to provide input to market needs for learning programs

 

Regional Account Development (30% of role):

  • Take ownership of stagnant territory accounts and/or new geographies to initiate account partnerships and unlock new opportunities

  • Leads business development activities with specialty pharmacy organizations and support negotiation and set up of new contracts

  • Leads and executes collaborations with Patient Organizations / Patient Community / third-party organizations for Sanofi

  • Manages Regional ecosystem budget

  • Manages external agency relationships to execute projects, focus on spend and achieve of major goals

About You

Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.Sc. degree required, MBA would be an asset

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry

  • Minimum of five (5) years progressive commercial experience, with experience creating and implementing commercial strategies and managing key accounts and customers

  • Preference given to candidates with experience (2 years+) in cardiology, and senior commercial roles

Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical legal, compliance, regulatory, and medical processes required Strong written and oral communication, with the ability to adjust to meet the needs of customer

  • Capable of holding challenging conversations with KOLs across all businesses, with the ability to shift thinking Strong presentation skills

  • Ability to build strong relationships

  • Demonstrate understanding of how customers use information across all channels and ideally experience in leveraging multiple channels to achieve education objectives

  • Ability to develop consistent, well-supported, competitive strategies

  • Proven leadership, strategic, and analytical abilities Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Technology Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience with Veeva PromoMats, SharePoint, MS Teams, and Zoom preferred

Languages:

  • English fluency required; French an asset

Travel:

  • Ability to travel approximately 30%

The salary range for this position is:

127,000.00 - 177,000.00 (Includes target bonus)
