National Accounts Manager
The National Accounts team establishes and maintains relationships with over 450 third-party fund companies that manage investments for TIAA clients. We oversee investment availability across Institutional Retirement, 529, retail Insurance, Brokerage and retail Managed Account platforms, providing both TIAA proprietary products and external options. Our team serves as the central point of contact for investment availability questions and provides solutions to third-party fund companies, external partners, and internal teams including Fund Operations, Product Teams, Sales, Consultant Relations, Relationship Managers, Transition Management, Investment Research Teams, RFP Teams, Compliance and Legal.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead and prepare preparation of quarterly reporting of key metrics, assets, and revenue, with ongoing focus on improving automation, efficiency and accuracy of reporting processes
  • Manage content for RFP responses
  • Maintain a comprehensive listing of investment options available on our platforms
  • Oversee key contract provisions: trade settlement, large trade notification, prospectus and proxy delivery, 22c-2
  • Build and maintain relationships with third-party fund company leaders to facilitate collaboration and expedite problem resolution
  • Possess detailed knowledge of selling and service agreements for investments on our platforms
  • Lead efforts working with legal teams to establish agreements and amendments with asset management firms, addressing any contract disputes that arise
  • Mediate and drives resolution for any issues that occur managing the day-to-day activities on the platforms (i.e., trade rejects, outstanding invoices, fund partner requests that impact our clients, implementation issues, corporate actions, etc.).
  • Coordinate monthly communications with fund companies to inform TIAA Wealth Portfolio Managers and Financial advisors about investment products
  • Identify and escalate risks with client requests to prevent disqualification from funds
  • Support calls with clients and consultants to address consultant recommendations, identify gaps, and gather feedback for platform enhancement
  • Collaborate with partners for joint sponsored events, client forums, industry panels, and internal meetings
Educational Requirements
  • University (Degree) Preferred
Work Experience
  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred
FINRA Registrations
  • SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of Institutional and/or Retail Platform management experience
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 (can be obtained within 90 days of employment)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Institutional and/or Retail Platform management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Advanced understanding of TIAA products and platforms
  • Strong understanding of investment products: mutual funds, CITs, annuities
  • Strong knowledge of policies and procedures for offering investments on our platforms
  • Negotiation of selling and servicing agreements and amendments. An understanding of legal agreement structure and the financial impact of the revenue sharing fee arrangements.
  • Advanced understanding of share class and revenue share impacts
  • Comprehensive knowledge of TIAA's business units to represent these platforms to all outside investment firms.
  • Ability to navigate internal subject matter experts and committees to develop new programs and take leadership role in maintaining existing initiatives.
  • Analytical skills for quarterly oversight reporting
  • Ability to represent TIAA at various industry events or symposiums
  • May require travel up to 10-15% for client meetings
  • Strong knowledge of back office or fund operations
  • Advanced relationship development and management
  • Effective partnership identification skills

Base Pay Range: $95,400/yr - $165,600/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
