About the role:
As the National Account Manager, Non-Alc – Off Premise, you will lead customer engagement and commercial strategy execution for key national and regional retail accounts. You will play a central role in driving channel plan attainment, leading cross-functional collaboration, and running both internal and external partners to deliver performance across the Off Premise landscape.
This role is both strategic and executional — requiring a strong understanding of commercial levers, distributor dynamics, and retail partner needs. In addition to owning joint business planning and in-store execution, you will also lead the communication and implementation of national programming, handle local resource allocation, and ensure alignment across functions such as Marketing, Trade Marketing, Activation, and Revenue Growth Management (RGM).
Role Responsibilities:
Customer and Account Leadership
Primary point of contact and lead seller for designated national and regional Off Premise accounts within remit.
Drive DNAB brand presence in key accounts by securing distribution, promotional programming, and retail activation aligned to joint business plans.
Own relationships with top buyers and influence the execution of Diageo brands across multiple formats and platforms.
Drive permanent display and feature placement where applicable.
Channel Strategy & Execution
Build and own Off Premise retail strategy for assigned accounts and regions, aligned with national segmentation and growth plans.
Ensure execution of national programming, innovation launches, and channel marketing initiatives across all accounts.
Act as field guide to central DNAB teams, sharing market-level insights and needs to inform strategic planning and resource allocation.
Distributor & Agency Management
Lead joint business planning with distributor partners to align commercial priorities and resources.
Lead agency partners (e.g., third-party sales specialists) in executing key initiatives in market.
Collaborate with distributor stakeholders to drive performance in line with customer plans and KPIs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Wire with internal teams including Field, Activation, Marketing, RGM, and Commercial Planning to align on execution plans.
Represent the Off Premise customer voice internally and act as the go-to for in-market challenges and opportunities.
Provide timely feedback and communication to internal teams on account-level developments and program results.
Financial & Compliance Management
Handle budget allocation (A&P, trade spend, etc.) to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
Track and report on sales, volume, distribution, and promotional effectiveness; recommend adjustments as needed.
Ensure compliance with state laws and internal commercial policies.
Experience / skills required:
Experience in beverage or CPG sales, preferably in National Account and Off-Premise customer management.
Experience selling into large format retailers, grocery, or eCommerce platforms preferred. (BevMo/Publix/Meijer/ALBSCO/Drug)
Distributor or broker management experience is a strong plus.
Understanding of syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen) and retail execution platforms.
Demonstrated success leading customer relationships and delivering joint business plans.
Skills & Competencies
Commercially savvy with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Results-driven with the ability to turn insights into action.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and highly organized with a strong bias for execution.
Collaborative and capable of working cross-functionally to drive alignment.
Excellent verbal and written communication; confident presenting to senior stakeholders.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and sales tools.
