What is this role?
The National Account Manager (Grocery) at Cirkul is responsible for driving growth across key national and regional grocery accounts, including HEB, Albertsons, Target, Publix, and beyond. This role owns both new business development and the expansion of existing partnerships, with a focus on increasing distribution, velocity, and overall account performance.
You will act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, developing strategic plans, executing joint business planning, and collaborating cross-functionally to bring Cirkul’s innovative hydration platform to more consumers nationwide. This is a highly visible, results-driven role that requires strong commercial acumen, relationship management, and a bias for action.
What does an average day look like?
Driving Results:
- Owns revenue, distribution, and velocity targets across assigned grocery accounts and consistently delivers against them
- Leads line reviews, buyer meetings, and promotional planning conversations to secure new item placements and incremental display support
- Analyzes POS data, syndicated data, and internal reporting to identify gaps and unlock growth opportunities
- Builds and executes joint business plans that translate into measurable sales and share gains
- Monitors promotional performance and trade spend, adjusting strategies to maximize ROI
Taking Ownership:
- Operates as the end-to-end owner of each account, from strategy development through in-store execution
- Proactively identifies risks (inventory, supply, performance gaps) and works cross-functionally to resolve them
- Drives internal alignment across marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure customer commitments are delivered
- Manages timelines, deliverables, and follow-ups from buyer meetings to ensure flawless execution
Making Decisions:
- Uses data, customer insights, and financial impact to make informed decisions on pricing, promotions, and assortment
- Prioritizes opportunities across multiple accounts and prospects to focus on highest-impact initiatives
- Navigates ambiguity in buyer feedback or category shifts to adjust plans quickly and effectively
- Balances short-term wins (promotions, displays) with long-term growth strategies (distribution, shelf space)
Cultivating Relationships:
- Builds strong, productive relationships with buyers and category managers through regular communication and in-person meetings
- Acts as a trusted partner by bringing proactive ideas, category insights, and solutions; not just selling products
- Expands Cirkul’s network within each account (merchants, supply chain, marketing contacts) to unlock additional opportunities
- Represents Cirkul in line reviews, customer HQ meetings, and industry events
Instilling Trust:
- Delivers on commitments made to customers and internal stakeholders with consistency and reliability
- Communicates clearly and proactively on performance, challenges, and opportunities
- Provides accurate forecasting and transparent updates on risks or changes
- Builds credibility through preparation, follow-through, and strong business acumen
Customer Focus:
- Develops a deep understanding of each retailer’s strategy, shopper base, and category dynamics
- Tailors presentations, promotions, and product assortments to meet each customer’s unique needs
- Identifies and pursues new customer opportunities to expand Cirkul’s grocery footprint
- Regularly visits stores to assess shelf execution, competitive activity, and shopper behavior, translating insights into action
What background should you have?
- 7+ years of experience in CPG sales, with a focus on grocery accounts
- Proven track record of managing and growing national or regional retail accounts
- Experience working with grocery retailers such as HEB, Albertsons, Target, or similar
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Experience with syndicated data and category management principles
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Willingness to work from the Tampa office and travel to customers on a weekly basis
