Your Role: National Account Director, US Pet Health
As a National Account Director, you will play a key role within Elanco’s Strategic Partnerships team by driving execution of strategic customer plans across a defined portfolio of corporate veterinary accounts. Reporting to the Sr. Strategic Account Director, you will translate high-level partnership strategies and contract agreements into actionable field initiatives that drive mutual growth.
This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who excels at cross-functional collaboration, field coordination, and customer engagement. You will work closely with customer field leadership, Elanco’s field sales organization, marketing, and operations to ensure effective pull-through of programs, promotions, and business initiatives that accelerate Elanco product adoption and sales performance.
Your Responsibilities
Partnership Execution & Pull-Through
Execute customer-specific programs, promotions, and initiatives aligned with HQ partnership strategies.
Serve as the primary liaison between Elanco’s internal teams and customer field leadership to ensure seamless implementation of account plans.
Track, measure, and report on executional performance to ensure objectives are met and opportunities are maximized.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
Foster strong relationships with customer regional and field leadership teams to influence local execution.
Support and lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) activities to identify local growth opportunities and remove executional barriers.
Engage regularly with key hospital groups and regional influencers to increase Elanco product utilization and loyalty.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Elanco’s Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Experience teams to align on initiatives and messaging.
Act as the connective tissue between national strategy and local activation, ensuring consistent communication and accountability.
Collaborate internally to coordinate training, communications, and executional support for field teams.
Influence & Impact
Influence without authority across both internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment and results.
Scale ideas and programs nationally, adapting for regional relevance while maintaining strategic intent.
Identify and share best practices across accounts to enhance efficiency and business outcomes.
Insights & Analytics
Monitor sales trends, promotional performance, and customer feedback to recommend optimization opportunities.
Analyze execution data to identify growth levers and ensure resources are prioritized for maximum impact.
Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and provide insights that support continuous improvement.
What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of sales or account management experience within the veterinary or related healthcare industry or demonstrated transferrable skills
Top skills include cross-functional leadership and execution (influential communication (without authority), stakeholder coordination, multi-project management, and delivering measurable results in complex customer environment) and data-driven decision making
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Animal Science, Marketing, or related field)
Strategic account management experience with corporate or national partners.
Experience leading field activation or downstream execution of national programs.
Track record of scaling initiatives nationally and securing partner buy-in.
Familiarity with companion animal portfolios and corporate veterinary models.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills to engage both internal and customer audiences.

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $138,000 to $165,000 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities). Of course, the compensation is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
