NATEC QA Subject Matter Expert (SME)

KBR is seeking a NATEC QA and Subject Matter Expert (SME). Duties will include applying maintenance experience to Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) development for initial delivery, revision of maintenance programs, systems, subsystems or support equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Serves as a NATEC QA and Subject Matter Expert (SME). Duties will include applying maintenance experience to Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) development for initial delivery, revision of maintenance programs, systems, subsystems, or support equipment.
- Provides subject matter expertise to design and develop maintenance procedures, testing and troubleshooting, functional flow diagrams and theory of operation procedures in accordance with contractual specifications, standards, and instructions
- Uses company-developed software tools, government furnished software as well as off the shelf products.
- Participates on a work team comprised of the Project Manager, Team Lead, other IETM Specialists, and Graphics Artists.
- Externally, interacts with NATEC, FST, and other SMEs from the customer and/or Department of Defense (DOD) representatives as required. Is responsible for the safe, mature, discretionary handling of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government Furnished Information (GFI) that could include Government furnished materials, sensitive material(s) (documents and equipment), and any end items used for IETM’s.
- Attends training conferences, In-Process Reviews (IPRs), and other required meetings to gather source data for the IETMs.
- Individual may be required to work occasionally outside of normal hours due to travel, availability of training equipment, time-shared work benches or aircraft, as specified by the contract. Works a standard weekly schedule of 40 hours with overtime as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Must have a current SECRET security clearance.
- A Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a minimum of ten years Navy maintenance professional work experience.
- NATEC Quality Assurance Representative Certification is required.
- Must have recent aircraft maintenance experience.
- Must be proficient with NAVAIR Standard IETM Viewer (NSIV), NATEC Technical Manual Application System (TMAPS), and Technical Publication Deficiency Reports (TPDRs) in the Joint Deficiency Reporting System (JDRS).
- Prior Quality Assurance and Maintenance Control experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Be aware of lifecycle logistics support, analyzing, reviewing source data including Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Maintenance Plans, Logistics Product Database (LPD), Engineering Drawings, and Parts Lists.
- Must be able to work under supervision to proactively develop Technical Publications.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to interact with military or government personnel.
- Must possess interpersonal skills to accept assignments and communicate technical concepts in layman’s terms.
- Must have basic computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet development, internet research, database familiarity and desktop publishing applications.
- Must be capable of working with standard office equipment such as personal computers, scanners, printers, copiers, E-mail, FAX machines and other required audio/visual equipment.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Basic Compensation: $89,000-$111,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
