Job Summary: This position is located in the Support Services Division within the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR) at Fort Riley, Kansas. DFMWR provides family support activities and services; social, fitness and recreational activities that enhance community life, fosters Soldier and unit readiness and promotes mental and physical fitness; and wellness programs that directly support readiness and resiliency.

Major Duties:

  • Responsible for overall management and direction of the Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Support Division at a large garrison, to include most of the following activities: NAF Financial Management, Marketing, Commercial Sponsorship, IT etc.
  • Provides policies and guidance to ensure attainment of the established objectives of the division.
  • Directs, develops, and administers plans and procedures; and implements regulations to ensure functions are carried out in accordance with governing laws, policies, regulations, and professional standards of service.
  • Provides leadership and supervision, and communicates mission and organization goals to subordinates. Applies knowledge of programming, planning, and budgeting and long-range MWR resources.
  • Directs and develops finance and accounting operations through various services to include receipt of, distribution of, and accounting for NAF. Maintains accounts showing status of installation allotments, assets, and liabilities.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Work Experience directing/managing one or more DMWR Support Management programs for a Garrison, or similar civilian community, for at least one (1) year. Knowledge of programming, planning, budgeting, and long range planning. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered Highly Preferred: Possess at least 2 years of experience overseeing a Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) NAF Support Office or similar environment (Marketing, Financial Management, Information technology, Property, etc.). OR Possess at least 2 years of experience of responsibility for development of a division's annual operating budget within Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) or similar environment.
