Our Claims team is an industry leader, drawing daily on its unparalleled levels of expertise to offer our clients the highest levels of stewardship to drive total cost of claim improvement and consistent outcomes. AIG manages claims using a wealth of technical and market knowledge about risks, business practices, and the ever-evolving legal and regulatory environment.
About the role
What you need to know:
Responsible for:
· Evaluating coverage, investigating and assessing Non-Auto Claims such as Property, Marine, Casualty and Personal Property claims
· Effective handling of reported claims after the occurrence of a catastrophic event
· Settling/reconciling the requested documentation of Marine claims with Service Claims Team
· Performing Desktop surveys/appraisals based on submitted repair costs, invoices and photos by claimants
· Utilizing settlement techniques that achieve cost effective and timely closure results by obtaining, reviewing and analyzing documentation, policy terms and conditions
· Providing a high standard of customer service and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
· Providing timely service throughout the life of the claim by meeting all service level agreements, initiating timely contact to all appropriate parties and responding to incoming inquires according to company policy and procedures
· Determining and timely setting appropriate reserves within authority level
· Issuing indemnity payments within authority level
· Utilizing diary system to pro-actively resolve outstanding issues and to ensure timely processing and closure of claim
· Identifying subrogation opportunities, in house handling when possible
· Identifying fraud and following the appropriate procedure to combat fraud
· Achieving out of court settlements when needed to minimize legal spend
· Effective dealing with complaints.
Technical Skills and Expertise
• Relevant professional experience is a plus
• University degree in Insurance is an asset
• Good command of Microsoft office tools
• Very Good knowledge of the English language
