Location: Imerys Minerals Ltd., Par Drying and Milling Centre Complex - Par Harbour - Par - Cornwall - PL24 2BP

Full salary for the role £45,325.25 pa including shift and Chargehand payment and when all skills for the role can be met.The  Chargehand payment of £2,868.07 pa is added following initial training and ability to work independently has been demonstrated.

Starting pay  £40,161.10 - £42,457.18 (including shift pay)  depending on skills and experience.

Hours of work: 38.5 per week, 12 hour day shifts across a 2-week rotating shift pattern:

Day Shift:    Week 1: 7am – 7pm - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thurs off)

                      Week 2: 7pm – 7am Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)

The job role:

Joining our experienced team, you’ll be carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance, repairs and breakdown resolutions on fixed plant equipment.

The more common activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance and diagnostics to a wide range of fixed plant equipment

  • Carry out maintenance reporting and handover to relevant stakeholders

  • Assist with planning and support of planned work with material ordering, arranging of scaffolding etc.

  • Ensure the site is compliant with maintenance to the regulatory control systems

  • Liaising and cooperating with cross site and functional engineers to ensure correct prioritisation of work

  • Use of SAP system for booking out spares, closing of work orders and sourcing materials

  •  Working safely complying with Imerys safe working rules and guidance

  •  You will play a leading part to help increase the plant OEE performance. This will be achieved by delivering PPM, reacting quickly to unplanned downtime and helping to improve efficiencies.

  • You will always work with Safety and Environmental focus as your No1 consideration. 

  • Have good communication skills and be able to work in a small team.

  • Be willing to undertake further training as required.

The role will include working from height and in confined spaces.

You will have a maintenance engineering background within a heavy industrial environment with electrical and mechanical experience of fixed processing plant and equipment. You’ll also need to:

  • Have an Indentured or Advanced  Modern Apprenticeship In Engineering Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance  or equivalent.   Or be cross-skilled from electrical to mechanical engineering maintenance.

  • Have a high level of health, safety and environmental knowledge and awareness.

  • Legally be able to drive in the UK

  • ONC/HNC qualification would be an advantage

  • Have good IT skills

  • Experience of welding (further training can be provided)

  • Ideally, a good knowledge of 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Risk Assessments, KPI’s and PPM.

  • Ideally hold  mobile plant certification such as  -  Forklift, Telehandler, Work Platforms.
